The "Onion-ator"

If you're anything like me, you love braaing and everything that goes along with it EXCEPT that one part... (🎡🎡🎡 scary music) - Cleaning up: Before and After! Let's talk about how to make this process a little cleaner.

Use an onion

  • Cut a fresh onion in half (there are a ton of ways to do this without crying)
  • Use your hands if you brave enough, alternatively stick the half onion in a fork or you can use a stick.
  • While the grid is still hot use the cut side of the onion to scrub the grease and grime off it. The oils and acids in the onion will take care of the rest – without you working up a sweat.πŸ’¦πŸ’¦
  • Use a clean cloth or newspaper to wipe off the access grease in between the grid.
  • Once done, just throw what's left of the onion on your coals, why you might ask.!! Well, believe it or not, it actually adds a little extra flavour to your meat.

Bonus tips

Rub some vegetable oil across the grill once cleaned. This will prevent it from going rusty. πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‰

Sidedish - Besides their cleaning ability, you can also make delicious grilled onions (Not with the once you just cleaned the braai with😁😁), perfect for hamburgers.
